The world of autism parenting — it comes with a variety of emotions, issues, rewards and challenges!

I know firsthand — in 2003, my husband and I agreed to bring a grandson from his previous marriage into our home!   We had a teenage daughter of our own at the time but parenting her had been a breeze compared to what we were about to face!   I had no idea what autism was, and Devin had not been diagnosed yet at the age of 4!

The Purpose of this site

My goal on this site is to help other parents face this challenge by providing information on autism, relating some of my personal experiences and to offer ideas on resources that you might find helpful as you deal with being the parent of a child with autism.

If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions for topics to cover please let me know by leaving a comment at the bottom of a page or post!  I would love to hear from you!

Thank you for taking the time to comment — parenting autism can be very challenging, but it also has its rewards! My son has helped me to appreciate the little things in life more than I did before. If I can help even one parent have an easier time dealing with autism, the work I put into this site is definitely worth it!
